Can I send a gift card to another country?

When you buy a gift card, you can only use it in the country in which it was purchased, since gift cards are in local currency.

What do you get when you buy a digital code?

Your gift card will be emailed to you as a digital code. You can print the 25-character code, send it by email, or send it over instant messaging.

How do you redeem a gift card?

Enter the 25-character code at microsoft.com/redeem by logging into your Microsoft account. After redemption, your gift card balance is available to spend at Microsoft Store online, on Windows, and on Xbox. Check your account balance.

Do gift cards expire?

Retail gift cards do not expire. There is an expiration date on promotional gift cards like those from Microsoft Rewards or Xbox Live Rewards.

What is the difference between a Microsoft Gift Card and an Xbox Gift Card?

There is no difference between the two cards. You can use your balance at the Microsoft Store online, on Windows, and on Xbox once it has been redeemed to your Microsoft account.
